chip and new rear end

Best and most cost effective upgrades for your car are:
1) A chip that recurves fuel, timing, and takes redline up to 5500 rpm(may be 6000?). These are available for $200-$300, less for a used one.
2) New ring and pinion for rear end will make a drastic acceleration improvement. These kits were readily available a few years ago, may take some surfing to track down now.
i believe Dinan made some turbos for the big six, but I doubt it for the baby six. If you were to add a turbo, you can forget about APC stuff and just run base boost at a safe level, 5 psi or so. However, custom fitting the exhaust and intake plumbing will probably cost more than you should put into a junker(guess $2500+). Better to sell your car and buy a later 325i without eta engine, a good value today.
