If you've got a '91S, I'm going to guess it has a 2.1l engine. Those weren't the happiest of engines - it had to do with the materials used. I'm going to guess you may have a slightly leaky head gasket, or very possibly cylinder wear. The cylinders wore fast on the 2.1l engine - on the 2.0 and 2.3, you can open up an engine with 150K miles and see the original factory hone marks in the cylinders (virtually no wear).
If the valves are leaky you can do a valve job - new valves where necessary, hone the seats. Head gasket is pretty obvious - new gasket. You could hone the cylinders and put in oversize rings, if they are available.
Frankly, the compression in your engine isn't THAT low, and the readings aren't THAT far apart to require engine work. You'll end up spending a decent chunk of cash, and I don't think you'll see any performance improvement. Keep an eye on coolant levels, oil condition, and the temperature gauge to look for impending head gasket failure, but otherwise, I'd just drive it for now.
