I am not sure if JVC decks can run Kenwood CD changers but if not why not get another kenwood radio, even if it costs $50. It's a much better radio!!!!!
dash speaker wise, go listen to as many as you can & see what you like !!!
Sub wise, I would trash the 6x9 idea. I would bet $$$$ that every system you have heard with subs was either cheap products and/or setup with the improper size enclosure. A properly designed system will sound very musical but it must be done properly. Also, consider the power people use to power their sub vs the rest of the system.
My stereo simply has a 6.5 component set & a single 10 in sub. It is extremely musical because that's how it's designed. You can hear a kick drum & a barry sax & a bass guitar etc from the sub, it's not noise!!!! If you can, go to your local audio shop & see if they would let you listen to the system in some of their cars.
Hope it helps & I would bet simply adding a single 8 or 10 in sub to your car with a small amp with a internal x-over will be superior to the 9-5's OEM system!
