'85 front brake pad replacement, going insane..

I successfully replaced the RF caliper on my '85 900S with no problems. This was after discovering my RF caliper was locked and the outter pad was worn down to metal, so much for a simple pad change.. (but slightly anticipated)
So now, after making a homemade and extra disfunctional "special tool" I managed to get the brake pads on the LF caliper. I had already working down the piston on the other side, and to my dismay I realized that I had forgotten to put on the outter pad. 24 hours later and much annoyance built up..
I have searched all over SAABnet looking for a solution, an alternative to the special tool. My car is up in the air, I would very much like it down. I live in a rural area so driving 30+ minutes to pick up a bicycle doohicky is impractical.
I've tried clamps with the bleeder valve loosened.. I have tried every means I could to force it, to no avail. Making another "special tool" will most likely drive me to insanity, as I anticipate a certain degree of disfunctionality. I have had no luck with the circlip pliers. I have pretty much tried anything I could logically conceive, and perhaps more.
Does anyone have any viable solutions from around the house? I have a pretty extensive collection of tools at my disposal. I would greatly appreciate any help that could be given.
Thank you!
