test measures cost of repair. all high priced cars do poorly because parts are expensive. These crash test cars, such as 9-5 test have same damage as toyota camry etc at 5 mph ,but parts are much more expensive so they get poor rating. test based on repair cost. Test must measure with different standards. the best tests that I like to compare are the high impact crashes where the study looks to intrusion into the passenger compartment. This test will estimate body (IE broken bones and limbs) damage. Saab 9-5 if I am not mistaken has side impact airbags. I'll place my trust in my 900 in a head on collision with any car of its size. The metal is much thicker on the old gen 900's than almost any car ive ever seen.
