I had a good fan switch t-stat, 82C thermosat, etc. etc. I flushed out my old radiator twice. But I bet if you were to measure the temperature of the left side radiator manifold when the engine is warm at the top and then the bottom of the manifold...you will probably find the top of the manifold is MUCH cooler than the bottom. Of course the bottom of the manifold is the return hose connection location. Why would the top be cooler than the bottom...answer: the top horizontal cooling passages which run across to the right side supply radiator manifold are partial plugged or fully plugged. If any water is getting through those passages it is cooled nicely because of the excess cooling surface for the amount of hot water which is moving through them. Because the t-stat switch is located at the top and not the bottom, the switch is seeing a false return water temperature to the engine from the radiator...thus the cooling fans do not come on when they should....Measure the temperature at these points to convince yourself if this is the problem for your car....
