I have 188,000 on mine and I had a shock go bad and spring would bounce up and down badly as there was no shock to dampen the spring and car would pull to the side. Pretty scary. As stated, the shock could also loose it's dampening ability over time. If you want to save money, push each corner of car down and see how fast it returns to it's original position. If your not getting tire rub on bad roads and your not bouncing up and down and you car is level your springs and shocks sould be OK. I put on Koni adjustable shocks on front and my mechanic did the rear as you have to take off this carriage that the rears sit in. The Bentley didn't cover this part at all so I didn't want to take chances on it. I really like the Konis. Really smooth and great control. Got part number off SAAB TURBO website. I getting 300 lbs heavy load springs from SAS to stiffen up rear. Getting some tire rub from 17x7.5 rims and my car is'nt lowered and I Like to carry stuff. Best, KB.
