My wife let an exchange student from Finland drive my 86 w/o telling me.
She had experience with w/Saabs and manual transmissions. Anyway, the shift knob has rotated 90 degrees to the right and she assumed that was the correct gear shift pattern. Apparently she was trying to start in 5th gear and finally gave up. The engine bay still smells from the burning clutch. At the same time my clutch mc was leaking badly and since my wife chose not to tell me about the incident ,I assumed the that maybe the fluid level had dropped or air had entered the line (the pedal was not returning)Since we needed the car the next day I replaced the mc that night. I really don't like to work on my car under time constraints. Used the inner tube bleeder and a cement block and now all is well. My wife said she was afraid to tell me when the girl was still visiting and yes, I guess I am protective when it comes to my car. bj
