First, why do you want to replace it? If you're having cooling problems, you may want to tell the whole story here. Thermostat is one thing, but a good coolant flush can help, also you may want a new fan switch while you're at it. But to the subject at hand...
Work on a cool engine for this one.
You can remove AIC to get it out of the way. Clean it while it's out. Use some Carb/injector/throttlebody cleaner (O2 sensor friendly stuff), then a shot of WD40, set aside to dry.
Remove thermostat housing, have some rags/towels handy.
Yank old thermostat out, clean housing and engine surface with rag.
Get new thermostat, wrap rubber washer around it (it comes with the t-stat), put the new one in place with the hole lined up (and in the upright position).
Put it all back together (reverse of previous steps). Torque the tstat housing to spec (i don't have it in front of me)
Open the valve on the thermostat housing and start the car. Allow car to warm up, and once water starts to flow, shut the valve. allow engine to keep warming up, then put a rag over the bleeder valve and open it again. Let bubbles out. Shut off the car, let it cool a bit. Top of coolant with distilled water and/or a little coolant (same as what's in there). Do the bleed procedure once again and you're good to go.
About an hour, probably less.
