This is based on my post from last night (July 9th) but I was afraid that last night's postings might roll off before Carl or someone else can respond (this board moves very quickly)......

Instead of waiting for the weekend, I took the wiper assembly out tonight.
I left the A/C compressor in place and was able to get it out in 10 - 15 minutes, but, Carl was right in that its not easy.

As far as spacers in the rubber mounts, only the driver's side had a steel washer and a rubber O-ring; the passenger's side had nothing.

It does look like there is a bushing (or two) pressed into the driver's side of the aluminum frame. I do have the have the elipitical-shaped pulley and the nylon and a bent washer (the wave-spring washer?). Both were sitting on the pulley's deep-dish side.

Now for the questions....

(1) How do you press the pulley on to the wiper shaft? I assume that the deep-dish side presses on first, but, you tell me if I'm right. Its so snug that it appears that it doesn't belong on the shaft although I can see the grooves circling the inside of the pulley that would correspond with the shaft's splines. There is also a C-clip that keeps the shaft from falling into the aluminum frame, so, for now I left it on.

From you reponse yesterday, I would think that I would:
- remove the C-clip
- press the deep-dish side of the pulley on to the shaft (tell me how,
please!)
- slide the nylon washer on and THEN the wave-spring washer
- slide the shaft into the aluminum frame assembly
- slide the rubber O-ring on and THEN the steel washer (what I found
under the rubber mount?)
- install the C-clip

(2) I would drill a hole through the pulley's non-deep-dish side (the hub)to go through the shaft as well? That's a pretty thick steel shaft and aluminum pulley to drill through....must take quite a while to do, especially drilling on a curved surface. Once that's done, insert a cotter pin and its done?

(3) I'm not following the cable reinstallation. The tension nut has no corrosion, so I'm fine there. About halfway down the cable is a metal "box" which does not seen to slide or twist-turn....its position is fixed. Then there's the metal cap on the end of the cable. Now, which metal piece fits in the open slot on the pulley? The cable's end cap, or the "box" in the middle?

(4) What type of grease, if any, do you put on the shaft? lithium grease? wheel-bearing grease? Marvel Mystry oil? etc.

Sorry this is so long, but, I am stumped at the reassembly of this. Based on everything I've stated here, can you tell if I am missing any hardware?
Thanks.
