Is 3/4 on Green safe on the temperature gauge?

I own a 87 900 Base model and non-turbo. I live in Wisconsin and the temp gauge stays around 3/4 on the Green. Is that normal? I just replaced the thermo on the rad with a 82 degree switch. I also switched to a 82 C thermostat. That brought the temp down from where it was with the 96 degree thermostat and 92 degree thermo switch. It seems OK and the fans kick on etc.
