Probably was me with the 'not sure' response last time...
It takes less than 60 seconds for the light to flash after you ground the wire. But, I don't think you'll fry your coil because I've had mine switched on for far longer that that anyway.
I gotta remember to check which wire you need. Somebody said that 'sometimes' the wires are in the wrong position in that plastic connector. Mine is in the row closest to the RH side of the vehicle, 2nd from rear.
Do you have any reason to suspect that the ECU has been swapped from a different year? Well, I guess since this stuff doesn't work that might be a reason to be suspicious... You've been trying this for some time now, maybe you ought to peel back the carpet & read the part # off of the ECU? Then maybe start a new thread with the model year of the car. My shop book lists the ECUs up thru '89 only.
