The AIC valve is a silver-colored cylinder near the thermostat housing. Maybe 2" diameter, 4" long. Right up on top/center at the front of the engine compartment**. Its held in place with a band clamp around the middle, has an electrical connector (2-wires) at the top, & 2 air-hoses at the bottom.
** BTW, C900 engines are in 'backwards'. When refering to the "front" of the ENGINE, that means the end with the drive belts, at the firewall. The "rear" of the engine is the flywheel & clutch. The AIC valve is at the rear of the ENGINE, near the radiator. This can be confusing...
Don't mess with the throttle screw yet... until you know its wrong. Go to the LH side, where the end of the accelerator cable attaches to the throttle body. Rotate the pulley a bit, & let it close. There's a black plastic switch on the opposite end of the throttle shaft. You should hear it click as the throttle closes. If it clicks, then leave that adjustment screw for later cause its 'probably' OK.
Read the fault codes... yes it stores them from earleir troubles. You can clear them, then drive a while & read again. If you have the high idle you will certainly get that code, but any others could be informative. Tell us what codes you get first off; and again after you clear them & check again. If the battery happened to be dead while it sat for a year, it probably lost whatever was stored earlier anyway.
If the high idle is the only trouble, & the engine runs well otherwise, it should be OK to drive like that long enough to store 'fresh' fault codes & figure this out.
