My indy tells me 84s were one of the best years in the c900. Our 84 is a normally aspirated basic Saab (best we could afford 18 years ago). It now has 156k+ and still runs great. I just changed the oil every 5K and fixed things when they died. Broken-in on the highway at 80, it knows what the left lane is for. Still do plenty of 500 to 800 mile round-trips all over New England & New York.
It been a fantastic car and I'm going to be turning it over to my daughter when it turns 20 and she starts driving. Other than normal stuff like shocks and mufflers, it has needed 2 radiators, 1 clutch, 1 steering rack, 1 water pump and 1 CV joint over 18 years.(aside from too many front brake calipers, mostly done by me). After 18 New England winters the body is showing its age a bit, but it is still strong and pretty tight.
Shu..you are probably over the hump on repairs. Keep the car. It's cheaper than a new rice burner. Their parts aren't cheap and they are boring to drive.
