I think it's time to replace my radiator -- engine runs at 3/4 to 7/8 on temp. gauge and there is obvious corrosion on exterior of radiator. Mechanic suggested a replacement 5k ago and I'm about to drive cross-country with a heavy load.

I've seen the aluminum/plastic replacement radiators online for $130 and I'm wondering if this is a DIY job. I don't have much experience working on cars, but I'm fairly handy. I confess that I'm a little worried about taking on a "wet" job like this.

Anybody in the Bay Area feel like helping out a fellow Saaber? Failing that, what might I expect to pay a mechanic for this? Would a mechanic install a part purchased online or would I have to buy through his shop?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
