.) Remove the steering wheel and then remove the plastic cover under the steering column and the two screws behind the steering wheel to reveal the turn signal/wiper stalk. Remove the two fasteners under the column(bottom side of stalk) and slide the stalk down off the column (just let it hang there until you reassemble)
.) Remove and label every switch in the facia panel including switches below the stereo (ie defrost,AC, etc.) Remove the headlight switch carefully it's retaining tabs are fragile. Electric mirror switches (if equipped), seat heat control (if equipped). Heater function switches can be disconnected once the facia is removed. Remember to remove the stereo or whatever is in it's place. All the switches pull out of the dash save for the heater controls (blower control and function control and installed from the back. The heat control is connected to a relay rod behind it that will slip off when you pull the facia away (reinstall through the stereo hole or through the left dash speaker hole.)
.) Remove the speakers (you might also want to pull out the slinky tubes from below the defrost ducts that direct air from the heater box to the vents so you don't forget they are there or reinstall the dash and lose them inside)
.) If the car has a center console below the dash you will need to remove the plastic face from it as well. To remove there are two fasteners on each side and two under the foam/rubber bellows between the shifter and the console cavity. To remove the bellow just tug from underneath them. There are two fasteners under there that will facilitate removal of the center console facia.
.) Remove facia by removing the four long bolts from under the dash. NOTE THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT LENGTHS. They are phillips heads in the earlier 900 and TORX 15s or 20s in the later models. These long bolts are numbered one through 4 and they have corresponding rings in the shaft just under the head so you can tell them apart. (You'll see what I mean when you get them out.) Reinstall the correct one in the correct spot or they will not work out.
.) Now all that is left are the two bolts at the top of the dash and the two below. There is one Torx head inside each speaker cavity near the base of the windshield. The other two bolts are inside the handle/cavity area under the glovebox. That's about it....When you remove the dash be aware of the wires that go to the glovebox light. They are short and will break easily. They do disconnect though.
Reinstallation is just in reverse. Nothing special. The first time you should give yourself a couple of hours just in case something goes wrong, but after the first few times you'll have it down to removal and reinstallation in well under an hour. The bolts that hold the facia on travel though little black plastic tubes that are supposed to be attached to the facia, but they are always broken. If you find them when you remove the facia you might epoxy them back on to keep the facia tight in the future. This might sound like a lot of work but it's really not bad at all.
