If you are getting fuel, it isn't the Hall-Effect sensor. The injectors will not open unless you are getting an RPM signal. More likely, it's the ignition control unit (ICU) on the fender, or the coil itself. Use a multimeter (DIGITAL, preferably) to check for a tach signal at the coil. If you aren't getting one, it's the ICU. If you are, it's the coil itself. Fortunately, the ignition on an '88 900T is bloody simple. You have four main components - the Hall-Effect sensor, the ICU, the coil, and the distibutor. My money is on the ICU - they die without warning, often quite spontaneously.
