If it is a 5 spd, then it is either a Turbo or EMS >>

The base cars in '80 were still 4-spds. So if 5-spd and NA then it must be an EMS. Would have a tach, the 'triangular pad' steering wheel, and the sport upholstery - diagonal vinyl strips over plush fabric. If original paint it must be the slightly greenish white and would have had green upholstery. They also had the 'quick' manual steering rack, Soccerball alloy wheels, and Bilstein shocks. The 1980 was the first 5 spd and most had problems in the first 100K. So check out the trans carefully for noises, popping out of gear, etc. The interior is basically same as the 99 other than dash. Seat mounting changed in '81, and again somewhat in '82 so some of the interior is not interchangeable without lots of work. The 'B' engine can be very long lived and seems to have more oomph than the early 'H' engine, although they spec the same. If well cared for the car at 164K could be just broken in. Find the water pump adjacent to the brake Mcylinder on drivers side near firewall and look for signs of leakage down the side of the block. let us know how it goes.
