despite what some SPG enthusiasts will tell you, it is simply a 900 Turbo with body cladding & some minor extras. don't get me wrong, i've been driving only saabs (+ 1 volvo) for 15+ years (& my family has since the early '60s): i like 'em just fine & will likely always drive 'em. but there ain't hardly nothin' extra special about an SPG unless you're wantin' all that fancy body stuff.

the seller of the car you're looking at is hoping to cash in on someone who is passionate enough about the SPG trim level to shell out several thousand extra dollars for it. imho, he is smoking crack.

i purchased an '89 900T in excellent condition five years ago, also with 93k on the clock, for $3000 less than the car you're looking at.

go by the bluebook values. here's what kelly blue book's site has on value for a '90 900T in excellent condition, for sale in Seattle (use your own zip @ their site for proper adjustment):

SPG: $4,205
non-SPG: $3,770

that's $435 for the SPG trim level. if you really want the body cladding, it can be acquired for ~$600 either in saabnet classifieds, ebay, or your favorite saab recycler.
