Jim,
Thanks for the added info, i'm hoping that my problem is NOT the harmonic balancer, as i think it'll be a job a little beyond my abilities.
The markings in the picture were taken a few weeks AFTER they were marked, and i really don't see the rubber there that everyone is refering to, but since all the markings still line up, i'm thinking that maybe the HB is ok. However, i still have that oil spray under the hood near the firewall, so i'm thinking that maybe it could still be the problem. I'm hoping to mark the outer rims this weekend like you suggest to know for sure.
I'm thinking of trying to replace the alternator bushings (as my alternator shakes) as it should be done anyway, and maybe i'll get lucky and it'll be a 2 for 1, with my squealing going away. I've heard some people say that this job can be tougher than it seems, but i think it's gotta be easier than a crankshaft pulley! (famous last words)
Any other suggestions on ways to test or things i should do before attacking any of the potential projects above?
