I just got a 1990 SPG and here is what I was able to find out here on Saabnet: SPG's are made in Finland, same assembly line as Porsche. I believe that some are still made in Sweden but the majority are made in Finland. So when I ran a carfax report the car came up as made in Finland. Good thing #1. The vin won't tell you anything other than it is a 2.0L Turbo. When you go to look at the car look for these few things, The sticker by the gas cap says "premium unleaded fuel only", springs are gold (didn't apply to my car because the deal srayed undercoating on it) and the third thing is the word AERO on the inside of the door. I actually took the door off to look for this sticker. It is worth the time to do it to make sure you are buying the real deal. BTW the sticker has a TON of writing on it and the word AERO is/was on the bottom right hand corner of the sticker on my car. Hope this helps.
