I think you would have noticed other symptoms if it were the clutch. Like slipping or shuddering when you engage it from a stop.
How about smoothness while you're trying to drive constant speed, say, 2k rpm in 2nd? I've always thought C900s have lots of wind-up in the driveline anyway, so its hard to drive smooth in low gears.
Engine mount... I suppose you could find a way to lift on the lug near the thermostat housing. Then watch the engine mount to see if something separates.
Open the hood, hold the brakes, begin engaging the clutch (heel&toe the brake & gas pedals). If the front engine mount was bad, you should see the engine moving (tilting upwards). How much is too much? I'm not really sure, the engine mounts are supposed to have some flex.
