SAAB 900 Turbos after '83 or '84 have an electronc boost controller. It's called an APC (Automatic Performance Control) box. On your '86, it's inside the left front fender behind the headlight.
Before you start messing with the boost, you might want to understand how the APC actually works and the safeguards built into it. If you're not getting boost past mid yellow, you have something wrong. It might be a bad knock sensor, bad knock sensor cable, vacuum leak, unplugged APC box, bad plugs, etc., etc., etc. Understand and fix those things first before you start screwing with anything else.
And, as you add output HP, remember that your transmission may not last. Keep that in mind, very seriously. Save your money for a rebuilt.
