You need specific diagnostic equipment to analyze and reset the ABS & SRS codes once the condition is corrected (don't play with the Airbag system if you don't know what you're doing! You're apt to trip it!!). So that sounds like a Pro SAAB Tech job to me! I'd have him check out fuel mixture & charging systems as well. Determine if it's P/S fluid by continuously checking the level in the reservoir. However, if your P/S fluid is as dark as dirty oil then it's fouled & that's the problem with the noise you're hearing. You can try a full P/S flush, making sure you get all the air out of the system but, a re-mand Rack is less than $200 w/lifetime warranty (if that's the problem). Invest in the Bently Service Manual before you attempt any repairs. Everything is outlined there. Be certain you have a full complement of tools on hand! I replaced my ABS system this summer but you need to determine the source of the power spike 1st! Sounds like you a a open ground somewhere! Also, a re-mand Altenator is less than $150 w/core exchange. If you're replacing the Rack removing/replacing the ABS & ALT will simplify the process (IF you know what you're doing!!!) If you have a digital camera available, take PLENTY of pic's so you'll have a backwards reference when re-assembling......
Good Luck
