I did a good bit of driving last night, highway and city. The car pulls like a freight train. The cool air into the turbo helps that. So I'm convinced the clutch disk is fine. I went from 50 to 90+ on the Cleveland innerbelt in 5th, and it ran like a scalded cat.

Warped disk: I slowly let out the pedal and waited for a snag. I would believe a warped disk would cause the problem EVERY time. Since this is not the case, I'm going to rule out the warped disk.

Now the master. The problem seemed less evident last evening. Warm car? Juices flowing? Dio CD in the player but radio on instead? Who knows why.

But, this morning, the first 20 shifts on the way to work had the weird problems. The pedal can feel "sticky" near the floor, sometimes the clutch engages too fast, etc. Since the awkwardness is in the "pedal feel", and I've read a good bit on here about goo buildup and clutch MC rebuilds, I'm guessing I'm due for the same.

So, how bad is replacement of a clutch MC replacement in an ABS car? I looked at bentley and it mentioned moving the alternator. I've also been follow a "rebuild in place" thread up the way. If I'm on my back under the dash, I'm doing the job 1 time, and doing it right. $75 for a Clutch MC is not going to break the bank. I hate pulling the seat and twisting like a pretzel and more than I have to. Can I pinch off lines and detach them from underneath? I never really get over to that part of the engine bay, until now, I guess! :)

Thanks for the tips, folks! I was kinda hoping the clutch was on the way out so I could look at the Rear Seal, but I'll live with that drip for a while.

Randy

Dio CD in the car, maybe taking Slayer out of the car is the real root cause of the problem.
