Yes you should buy a SAAB. All Saabs are comfortable (except my 88 with the half-broken driver's seat). If you are any kind of fix-it man, and you have the bentley manual, tools, and this website, you should definitely buy a SAAB. When buying SAABs, I like to buy NICE ones with bad tranny's cheap (4 or $500 jobbies) then put in a nice freshly rebuilt tranny. That way there's no mystery about the transmission. The engines are damn near bulletproof. I have had several 900's, turbo's and "S"s, and SPG and a 9000Turbo. Tough call. I also have a 98 900T (piece of shit, stick with the older saabs, not saabrolet's) Look for a turbo for the most fun. An SPG for even more fun. The 9000 line handles really nice too, but it a little bit more posh (lot more posh). Test drive a few. Can't beat a SAAB, and I spent a good chunk of my life in Volvo territory (Ithaca, NY). Let us know what you find.
