I've got this issue in my 93 900S. The cam follower just collapsed, so I've got a new one on order. It's apparently uncommon for this to happen; neither my local dealer nor the only Saab-approved independent mechanic have seen it. There seems to be some stigma about placing used parts from one vehicle into a used area of another just because wear can be uneven. I think most manuals advise that re-used parts be placed back in their original positions. For this reason alone, it makes sense to me to use a new cam follower. I think one of the sponsors has them for $14. E-europarts doesn't carry them, so you'll need to use Sabbparts or something.
