You're right on cost, i got carried away and started adding items. You should probably give Jim Moncrief a call at sobstory 800-583-0370 for a good low price source of parts. I think he has Bentley manuals in case you don't have one.
For wire, get some the size of a bucket handle(which I use). maybe 4 gauge? You can just tap the crank seal in with a hammer or get a section of 3/8" threaded rod, a 3/8"nut/washer and a big 1/2" socket and the piece of wood. Put the socket against the hole where the slave mounts and put the nut/washer on the threaded rod and stick the rod into the hole through the socket so the nut/washer rests against the end of the socket. Stick the other end of the rod against the wood and then screw the nut to force the rod/wood against seal. a picture would be better...
A homemade pressure bleeder will make bleeding easier...search on pressure bleeder for many alternatives from bicycle tube to spare cap versions. Have fun!
