Following a brake job I have a bit of a mystery on my hands:
My '85 900 T won't start. The starter motor is turning, yet the engine is not firing. I pulled the distributor input wire (from ignition coil to the distributor cap) and set it on the metal at the front of the engine to no avail, there was no arcing while starting the engine. No fuses are blown. There was a faint smell of fuel under the hood, but I didn't pull any plugs to check for fuel. The battery is good (12.5 volts between positive and negative contacts). The resistance through the ignition coil seems to be off, it's too high (12 ohms vs. 2) between the positive and negative contacts, yet in the correct range between the input contact and the output lead. The car was starting fine prior to the brake job, and absolutely nothing was touched during the brake job (replacing of a caliper and brake bleeding). The car was parked for a total of 5 hours during the brake work, and consistently started strong just prior to the work.
Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance for reading this!!
