1984 Saab 900 Cruise Control

Saab Experts :
I have a 1984 Saab 900 3 door with dealer installed, as opposed to factory installed, cruise control (CC), e.g. my CC does not have a dedicated relay like the facory unit. I recently installed Saab part number 8547960, which is a replacement turn signal stalk designed to work with the factory CC. My turn signals are back to life !! However, the CC does not work.
Both the old stalk (round style) and the new stalk (square style) have four CC wires - red, green, yellow, and brown, which terminate in a 4 pin connector, close to the stalk. In addition, my dealer CC has two brown wires (instead of one) connected to the "brown" pin, on the control unit side of the 4 pin connector.
Is there a way to wire the new stalk (8547960) so that it works with the dealer installed CC ???
Meanwhile, I will prusue the wiring diagrams in my Red Bentley Manual (these reflect the factory configuration).
Thanks for any advice that you can provide.
