Should be able to...question, as you know, is how the dealer version worked. I suggest reverse engineering on this one. The new square handle one works this way...
Brown is +12VDc.....the fact you had two on one of them is ok since two separate switches internally is used and each of the two goes to a switch.
red connects to brown when the switch is moved from OFF to ethier ON or RESUME position
Yellow connects to brown when the switch is moved from OFF to RESUME
Green connects to brown when switch is moved to the SET SPEED position.
Question is now....what does the old dealer switch do for these switch positions??????? I am assuming the cruise portion of the directional still works...
