damien, besides reading low, the tach appears to operate normally - so I don't suspect an electical problem. I'm fairly certain I also have good electical contact at the connector. When I had the cluster out over the weekend I removed each wire from the connector, (one by one, so I made sure they went back in the same place) re-tensioned each contact and cleaned each contact and the cluster circuit board "tape" with contact cleaner. I really don't want to tear everything apart again to move the tach needle back to its original position if I can avoid it. I've noticed a number of screws on the back side of the tach and was wondering if any of them may be for calibration. That way I could hook up a 2nd tach, start the engine and adjust the on-board tach through the left speaker access.
