pilot bearing sob story

I did the clutch job without replacing the pilot bearing, and had to start all over immediately. Since I am not a mechanic by trade, this was a big deal for me, and in my opinion at the time, disastrous. The lesson I learned (sort of) was to replace stuff when it's easy to do so if it's not too expensive. I guess you have to balance your check book with your mechanical acumen, and decide how bummed you would be to have to do the work twice.
