mostly electrical.. its a case of what to look at first.. pull the main lead from the center of the distributor cap.. the other end wants to stay in the coil.. hold the end of the lead about half an inch away from the cars engine block/head get someone to crank the car over.. there should be a big fat spark that jumps the half inch between the end of the lead and the metal engine.. warning u can get a painfull kick while doing this.. prop the lead in place if u can.. but dont touch the cars body whilst doing it and dont touch the exposed metal end of the lead.. its quite safe to touch until the engine starts cranking over..
that checks for a basic spark.. if that is okay pull the plugs.. by leaving a plug connected and laying it on top of the engine u can test each plug in turn.. also pull the cap of the distributor and make sure the rotar arm isnt busted ot anything.. check the inside of the cap for tracking marks from the terminals down to the base.. give it a wipe while u are at it..
these cars tend to flood if they dont fire pretty quick.. this will be obvious when u pull the plugs and have a look.. if they look wet disconnect the cold start injector or pull the fuel pump relay and spin the engine over quite a few times to clear excess fuel.. if u have the sparks and everthing looks okay bung it back together and give it another try..
lots more to this but u have the basics..
