I still miss my '84 900 S. I bought it at 127K miles, and sold it at 420K. Very easy to work on, and it NEVER needed any major engine work...not even a head gasket, as opposed to my current '93 9000 CSE T which has been a real pain in the wallet. The 900 also handles MUCH better than the 9000, even with the suspension mods I've done on the 9000. I think one of the reasons the 900 series was expensive to produce, and thus discontinued, was due to the double a-frame front end - as opposed to the cheaper but much inferior macpherson struts. The 900 also has better ground clearance on driveways & ramps, and the ignition switch is where it should be. You might want to keep your eye out for a well maintained 900 T - they're even more fun to drive!
