Hello all!
I own a 1988 900 SPG. I just replaced the starter and now the car starts only when it wants to. It ALWAYS starts first thing in the morning. But say if im out doing errands and get out for a few minutes and come back in to start it up ill turn the key and 'click', nothing happens, engine doesnt turn over and starter doesnt spin. When this happens i usually push start it (if im on an incline) or i'll keep turning the key and attempt to start it and sometimes it will eventually turn over. Anyone know what the deal is?
Also when i first replaced the starter it failed about two hours after i picked the car up. I took it in the next day and my mechanic said that the motor itself failed and he then put a new one in, free of charge. Anyway this could be related to my current problem?
When my mechanic was replacing the starter the second time he originally thought that there was a loose connection so he checked everything, but it was eventually determined that the motor did fail.
Thanks for any input!!!
