My '90 does this same thing on occasion. What appears to happen is the "brain" decides to close all the locks, & then cuts power before disengaging the motor. Whatever it's doing, the result is that the locks are all "clamped" in the locked position. Not only is it next to impossible to get the locks open from the outside, but it's also very difficult lifting the knob from the inside. It hasn't been frequent enough for me to do anything about it yet, but maybe I'll take a look at it over New Year's & see if I can find that wire Andrew mentioned.
