okay if no more heat is being generated things cant get hotter.. simple logic at work here.. they might seem to but they cant.. at the worse heat might transfer from one part of the engine to another but overall things must start to get cooler as soon as the heat source is turned off.. as for that thermal syphoning it does perhaps but not to any usefull degree.. running that fan for up to ten minutes after the car has been switched off is a total waste of time.. he he..
its a silly saab quirk why not just admit it.. its not normal practise with other cars thow some others do it i must admit.. quite often cos the fan is not wired thru the ignition so once going it keeps going till the temp sensor cuts the earth path irespective of the ignition being turned off.. i think its only saab that do it deliberately.. bless em.
a bit like this weird three way saab T-stat i keep hearing about.. when the car gets a wee bit hotter than normal the heater goes off.. this makes the car run cooler.. another piece of utter nonsense.. he he he.. or at least the so called logic behind it is..
saabs are quirky cars which is what makes em different.. but some of the saab quirks dont make a deal of sense..
