'91 C900 16v nonturbo. #3 cylinder is not firing. Spark is present; When running I can pull the injector harness off injector #3 and nothing happens, no stall or drop in RPM. Replaced the injector with no effect. swapped injector #2 with injector #3 and it's still #3 cylinder that's dead. All voltage and resistance checks mentioned in Bentley are normal except that not only does the blue/red wire to the injector have battery voltage when the ignition is on, the green/red one does too. This voltage to the green/red wire is present on all the injector wires, not just #3. This voltage at the green/reds disappears if ALL the injectors are unplugged. I have looked at the wiring harness as it goes behind the engine and over to the right and it does not appear to have been traumatized by the belt/pulley, etc. I have poked and prodded, pulled and looked, uncovered the LH unit and relay wiggled wires there to no avail. There is a line in the Bentley manual that says, "If no wiring faults can be found, the ground signal from the control unit is missing. See Electrical checks and component testing for additional electrical tests." There are 2 bundles of about 5 wires each that come out of the end of the big harness that all go to ground. The electrical tests (control unit grounds) refer to battery voltage being present across terminals 18&5, 18&11 and 18&25 at the LH unit with ignition on. How to measure these terminals? Do you have to remove the LH? Isn't there some danger about unplugging the LH? Thanks Bill Montgomery
