it's not hard to map an install out for yourself. Just remove the grill and it's all there in front of you. I used a strip of alum. (cardboard'll work) to bend more or less to the right config, then took it to the hware store to match to several brace sizes. Turns out the 8" bracket I found at Ace was perfect. Most stores carry 6",8",10" 90 deg. brackets.
Hellas fit just right. Mounted onto the 8" bracket bolted over the fog brackets and looking from head on, they visually fit right into the corners of the grill trapezoid, just clearing the headlight beams and about same height as the grill. Very cosmetically pleasing IMO. The lights are <3" thick, so when mounted with the backs almost touching the grill, they exactly clear an open hood. Any further forward & the hood mat would hit.
Once you have the bracket hole positions of the bumper marked, you can visegrip the fog brackets to the new ones as a drill template.
Course, you should have the lights (hella or whatever) on hand so you know what size holes, how much bracket trimming etc. to do.
The main thing is, that the fog bracket holes are vertically positioned perfectly for above bumper lights, using a simple 90 deg. bracket. (no dogleg needed) and that the 1/2" bumper slit that the grill snaps into below is a perfect spot to exit the bracket for the light mount.
If I still had the brackets off the car, I'd post the measurements but believe me, the factory couldn't have done up a bettter bracket than this simple hardware item. Plus, they're zinc-plated. (coated mine black of course).
For the Hella 500s, you need to:
1) buy 2 8" brackets. (at least 1 1/8" wide)
2) drill two new holes for foglight bracket bolts. (slightly oversize of bolts, for ease of installation).
3) drill one hole for the hella bolt mount.
4) trim the hella mount bolts, so the nuts clear the bumper. (I replaced kit nuts with M10 stop nuts).
5) trim a few inches off lightmount end of the bracket.
6) paint to please.
