Keep in mind that both cams are always off in the same direction no matter what.
I use the little groove carved in the camshaft (instead of using the sprocket arrow) as a guide.
If you look closely you have a "sort of" arrow shape on the camshaft bearing that points toward the groove in the camshaft.
If in doubt, the groove on the camshaft should ALWAYS be behind the arrow on cap. Which kind of means toward intake side of engine. This due to normal wear and tear of chain and guides.
Very few engines have those two marks line up perfectly, even when new guides and chain are installed.
But almost always are the two camshafts off the same distance.
