from Swedish Dynamics. I just had my mech replace all the tranny parts that were bad to save money. I don't know how much you would save getting a used tranny. Some of your tranny parts may still be good so it's hard to say which way is the cheapest. We had to get the pinion housing machined a bit to make room for the upgaded pinion. My mech said my old housing was for a non-turbo so it was a little smaller. I've heard that some of the gears may have been beefed up on later trannies but like the other guy said the pinion was the weak spot and the Swedish Dynamics pinion is bigger than the later stock '89 and later pinions which are bigger than the '88 and earlier. You will enjoy how nice and smooth the new tranny will be and how will it shifts after 1000 mile break in. The pinion is nice and quite now. I'm putting in Honda MTF after the break in which is about half the price of Redline MTL. You can do a search on these topics to learn more.
