u need a good spark and it needs to be in the right place at the right time.. and u need the correct mixture of fuel and air.. cranking an engine with a poor spark will cause engine flooding.. thats your wet plugs.. once this point is reached your engine aint gonna fire..
coils can fail and cause a weak spark.. not often (once in my motoring lifetime) but it can happen.. if u can lay your hands on another one trying swopping it..
keep at it but remember the point i made about excessive cranking causing the engine to flood.. once this point is reached even if u get your spark the engine isnt likely to fire..
can u disable the auto choke on your carb if so try doing it.. i think u are right with your firing order but check each lead thru fron cap to plug..
your problem is 99% likely to be a simple one.. also a weak battery thats struggling to crank the engine over can cause weak spark problems..
