Your comments are meaningful. The itnitial problem was a cold start problem and the AMM and AIC were suspect - these parts were tested with the available information and used replacements as well and they were ruled out - the replacement of the ignition module however changed the scenario and car which previosly would not run more than a few minutes now runs pretty good. However now the codes started showing the O2 adaptation error (both 12111 and 12112). I believe up until this the car was running really rich and over sufficient time to cause real O2 problems so the O2 sensor was removed and cleaned. Things have been much better in terms of the vehicle performance but something just seems a-miss with the continuation of the O2 code. Grounds have been a problem historically but most have been cleaned and continutity checked. I now know way more about this car than I expected to and the help from this site has been invaluable. Unfortunately old cars can have a multiplicity of problems and sorting them all out is not trivial.
