Lots of people do it, but engines ain't bulletproof like they were in 1965 detroit muscle cars. You will kill a seal or kill a piston. Just change to a good motor oil and tranny oil. Lots of people swear by different companies like Mobile, Red Metal, etc..., but the thing is change them NOW. Do it yourself as quickylube places frequently screw up Saabs as the drains are in different places. Motor oil needs change frequently, (every 5000 miles)

Draining the tranny should be done at a Saab dealer as you had no drain bolt at 1992 models. So what if it costs a few bucks because they will change the special filter that is unique to your Saab and it will hold you for a good long time. Ask them how long it will be good for, but it should be at least some 10's of thousands of miles.
