Broken Water Pump Pulley... Please HELP!!

Hello all. I changed the water pump in my wifes 92 900S this weekend. I ended up getting one at Discount Auto Parts as the price was right and it was available this weekend. Well the job was a pain, but I got it all together w/o incident. That is until today. The water pump pulley broke off at the water pump shaft. The bolts that hold the pulley on are still attached and the belts are fine, but the pulley cracked at each bolt hole and then sheered off. Any ideas. The pump and alternator still turn fine and everything lined up good when putting it back together? Anyone ever seen this before or have any ideas? Obviouly I have to change the pulley but I fear that it will break again unless I can figure out why it broke the first one. Thanks for any and all advice. Gordo
