Dan, check the motor (located in the trunk near spare). Sometimes the screws holding motor in place will break loose therefore not pushing cable efficiently. If motor is in place i would suspect cable. You could easily find a cheap replacement. Fixing power roof would be much easier than trying to retrofit manual sunroof.
