Clutch shaft seal leaking, need advice

Darn....13th month of warranty and dealer won't honor it. I understand that the seal was replaced as part of a clutch job but I found out that it's been leaking for a while. In fact, leaking is an understatement. I should put the $10 spent on flourescent dye elsewhere. Spoke to Saab USA but haven't received a response yet, but chances are slim as I was told, since the car "already" has 126K on it.
Now...this car is due get an engine and tranny replacement in the next 5-10K miles and it doesn't make financial sense (to me, at least) to spend $300+ to fix a clutch shaft seal at my trusty mechanic.
I am armed with a Bentley manual and and a burning desire to fix this, and was wondering if anyone has relavant experience with this fix, and perhaps provide some tips on which parts should be replaced at the same time? Is this a simple job requiring no more than 2-3 hours?
TIA.
