You can do this yourself in 3-4 hours. the job entails removing the whole clutch assembly and slave cylinder. the shaft seal is behind the slave. It's really a shame to do this alone, when not part of a clutch replacement job. Your labor is the same. You should have a Bentley manual, and you can make the special tool to hold the pressure plate fingers in a disengaged position out of an old plastic bucket handle or wire about the same gauge (#4?).
Since the seal is probably torn, I doubt if swelling the seal with a stop leak treatment will be successful. But since you are going to R/R the engine and trans, there is nothing to lose by trying. I would use regular crankcase stop leak and not tranny(automatic only). Maybe there is enough left of the seal that it will swell and at least reduce the leak until time for replacement.
