I have been dealing with this intermittently for awhile now and am trying to decide where to begin replacing parts. I have had an issue with the RPMs on my 1991 900T where they seem to 'hang' when I push in the clutch. That is to say, if I accelerate in first gear, push in the clutch, the RPMs often will stay at 2k RPM (or whatever) until I hit the brakes or if I wait long enough it seems to 'break' and come down to idle like normal. Sometimes, the RPM's will actually go up after I push the clutch in after going a constant speed. Very strange. I at first thought AIC valve except I don't seem to have any problems while at idle and stopped. I tend to have more issues if I a) just accelerate and push in the clutch or b) have been driving at speed for a long time on the highway and go to exit. In both cases, the RPM's don't drop to idle immediately but will stay up (aka 'hang') or even go up a bit before coming down after I step on the brakes or wait long enough. The vacuum lines in the engine compartment are all new so I'm hoping it's not a vacuum leak. But I'm guessing it's that or the TPS not registering closed throttle when I let off the gas. Every time I check the TPS in the engine compartment though it works okay. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Thanks!
